Operation Sindoor Live: Decoding India’s Precision Strikes on 9 Terror Camps in Pakistan and PoK

Operation Sindoor Live – In a decisive escalation against cross-border terrorism, India unleashed Operation Sindoor, a meticulously planned military campaign involving precision airstrikes on nine high-value terror camps spread across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The strikes came just days after the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 innocent civilians, sparking national outrage and a demand for immediate action.

Operation Sindoor Live: Decoding India's Precision Strikes on 9 Terror Camps in Pakistan and PoK

Backed by actionable intelligence and satellite surveillance, the Indian Armed Forces executed the operation with pinpoint accuracy, targeting camps affiliated with Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), and Hizbul Mujahideen, three of the most notorious terror outfits operating in South Asia.

1. Bahawalpur: The Heart of JeM’s Operations

The most symbolic blow was dealt to Jaish-e-Mohammed’s headquarters in Bahawalpur, located around 100 kilometers from the India-Pakistan border. This location had long been a breeding ground for radical indoctrination and attack planning, including operations targeting Indian civilians and security forces. Striking this facility sent a loud and clear message — India will no longer tolerate state-protected terrorism.

2. Muridke: Lashkar’s Legacy of Bloodshed

Another major target was the Lashkar-e-Taiba training camp in Muridke, just 30 kilometers across the border opposite Samba. Known globally for training the perpetrators of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, the camp symbolized the enduring threat of LeT. Intelligence suggested that the facility was once again ramping up activities to launch fresh attacks in Jammu and Kashmir.

3. Gulpur Camp: The Poonch-Rajauri Launchpad

Located near the Line of Control (LoC), the Gulpur camp in the Poonch-Rajauri sector had a well-documented history of being used as a launchpad for cross-border infiltration. It was directly linked to the April 2023 ambush in Poonch and the June 2024 attack on a pilgrims’ bus, which killed multiple civilians and security personnel.

4. Sawai Camp in Tangdhar: A Hub of High-Profile Attacks

Deep inside the Tangdhar sector of PoK, Indian jets flattened the Sawai camp, reportedly run by LeT operatives. This remote site was tied to multiple high-profile attacks, including those in Sonmarg (October 2024), Gulmarg (October 2024), and the recent Pahalgam massacre (April 2025). Its destruction has significantly disrupted the terror network’s ability to mobilize fighters quickly.

5. Bilal Camp: JeM’s Gateway to Infiltration

The Bilal camp, another JeM stronghold, was hit due to its strategic role as a final transit point for terrorists before crossing into Indian territory. Officials revealed that this camp was used to brief and equip operatives just before infiltration missions.

6. Kotli: Suicide Bomber Training Ground

Opposite Rajauri, the Kotli camp was among the most heavily guarded LeT facilities. It reportedly housed over 50 active operatives, many undergoing suicide bombing training. Neutralizing this site was essential to preventing mass-casualty attacks on Indian soil.

7. Barnala: Militant Logistics and Regrouping Hub

Located barely 10 kilometers from the LoC, the Barnala camp served as a critical logistics and regrouping center. Militants often used it to reroute and reorganize after failed infiltration attempts, making it a consistent threat to border security.

8. Sarjal Camp: Rapid Incursion Launchpad

The Sarjal camp, a JeM-run facility just 8 kilometers from the Samba-Kathua border, was used for short-range incursions and hit-and-run attacks. Its proximity to Indian towns made it an immediate danger to both civilians and border patrol units.

9. Mehmoona Camp: Hizbul Mujahideen’s Fading Bastion

Near Sialkot, the Mehmoona camp was one of the last active training bases of Hizbul Mujahideen, an outfit that has gradually lost relevance but remained a symbolic entity in the valley’s militancy narrative. By targeting this camp, India aims to dismantle the group’s remaining infrastructure.

Why These Camps Were Prioritized

Each of these nine camps was strategically selected based on a combination of historical relevance, recent activity, and intelligence inputs. Collectively, they represented the core of Pakistan’s proxy war machinery. Targeting them simultaneously dealt a crippling blow to the terror infrastructure and sent a geopolitical message — India retains the capability and the will to strike back with surgical precision.

What Lies Ahead

While Operation Sindoor has been hailed as a tactical success, Indian defense analysts caution that retaliatory attempts from terror outfits or their sponsors cannot be ruled out. However, with robust border defenses and vigilant intelligence operations, India appears ready for the next phase in its counter-terrorism doctrine.

As the international community watches closely, New Delhi has reiterated its stance: “Talks and terror cannot go hand in hand.” Through Operation Sindoor, India has redrawn the red lines.
