Bandipora, Jammu and Kashmir: In a tragic accident, two soldiers were killed and three others left critically injured when an Army truck skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge near the Wular Viewpoint, a popular tourist destination in the region.
The vehicle, which was carrying military personnel, lost control and skidded off the narrow, dangerous road into the deep gorge below. The accident happened in the wee hours of the morning, and local authorities along with emergency teams were quick to respond to the scene.
The injured soldiers were evacuated immediately and taken to the District Hospital in Bandipora. Medical Superintendent Dr. Masarat Iqbal Wani said that five soldiers were brought to the hospital. “Two soldiers were declared dead on arrival, while three others are in critical condition. They have been referred to Srinagar for specialized treatment,” said Dr. Wani.
The cause of the accident is not yet known, but preliminary reports indicate that the difficult terrain and slippery road conditions may have contributed to the tragic mishap. Authorities have launched a thorough investigation to determine the factors contributing to the accident.
Local people expressed profound sorrow and condolences to the families of the deceased soldiers. The entire community is now mourning their loss since this tragic incident.
