In a move to protect children in vulnerable areas, the District Commissioners (DCs) of Punjab have issued orders for the closure of schools in border towns such as Fazilka and Ferozepur. These areas have been under heightened security following the Indian Army’s missile strikes targeting terror camps associated with groups like Jaish-e-Mohammad and Lashkar-e-Taiba in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir.

Safety Measures for Students Amid Rising Tensions

The Indian military operation, named “Operation Sindoor,” was conducted in retaliation for the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians two weeks ago. The missile strikes were aimed at terror training camps and facilities linked to groups responsible for orchestrating such attacks.

Officials confirmed that schools in these border areas will remain closed until the situation stabilizes. Although some schools initially informed parents that the closure would last for only one day, this may change depending on developments. Local authorities are continuously monitoring the situation, and further updates will be provided to the public as needed.

Closure of Schools in Jammu and Kashmir

In addition to Punjab, educational institutions in Jammu and Kashmir have also been closed. All schools and colleges in districts like Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Rajouri, and Poonch are shut for the day as a precautionary measure. The decision comes after shelling and firing from the Pakistan military last night, which resulted in the deaths of three civilians.

The escalation of tensions between India and Pakistan has raised security concerns, prompting authorities to take swift action to ensure public safety, particularly in sensitive border areas.

Updates for Parents and Students

Parents are urged to stay in constant touch with schools for timely updates regarding the resumption of classes. With the volatile situation on the ground, the authorities are taking every step to keep citizens informed about changes to the school schedule.

The safety and well-being of students remain the top priority, and authorities are closely monitoring the situation to make informed decisions about when schools can reopen.
