Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi Launches 'White T-shirt Movement' for Justice, Equality

Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Sunday launched the ‘White T-shirt Movement‘. He said this is a symbol of justice, equality, and unity for India. Through a post on X (formerly Twitter), Gandhi urged citizens to join this movement that will address growing socio-economic imbalances in the country and a fight against injustice.

Gandhi said in his statement that the Narendra Modi government had apparently abandoned the poor and working-class communities and concentrated its energies on making a few capitalists fat. “Today, the Modi government has turned its back on the poor and the working class, leaving them to struggle on their own,” Gandhi said. “Inequality is increasing, and the workers—those who build this nation with their blood and sweat—are forced to endure injustices and exploitation.

He stressed that the movement is a call to action for all citizens who believe in economic justice, oppose rising wealth inequalities, fight for social equality, and strive for peace. “If you stand for these values, wear your white T-shirt and join this movement,” Gandhi stated in his appeal, urging people to participate actively.

Sharing a video message on X, Gandhi said the ‘white T-shirt’ is much more than an article of clothing; it reflects five core values: compassion, unity, non-violence, equality, and progress. He said these principles reflect the essence of India’s ancient civilization that thrives in diversity and harmony.

The official website of the ‘White T-shirt Movement‘ further clarifies that the basis of this movement is the philosophy of ‘Dharma’ (duty to serve society selflessly) and ‘Karma’ (resolve to uphold rights and fight for justice). This movement aims to create a society where everybody has value and freedom doesn’t become the monopoly of a few.

“By embracing these principles, we can build a more just and united India,” the website reads. “The white T-shirt is a call for a society where every voice matters, and where divisions of caste, religion, and income do not hinder progress.”

Gandhi concluded by urging the youth and working-class citizenry to be a part of this movement. To join or know more about it, they can visit their official website on whitetshirt.in/home/hin or can give a missed call on 9999812024.

This movement marks a significant push by the Congress leader to mobilize citizens in the fight for social justice, drawing on the spirit of unity and collective action, as he continues to challenge the current government’s policies on economic inequality.
