New Orleans Terror Attack: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has strongly condemned the latest terrorist attack in New Orleans, terming it as a “cowardly act of terror.” He also issued a heartfelt message expressing his deep condolences to the victims and their families and re-affirming the unwavering solidarity of India with the United States at this critical juncture.
The attack took place on New Year’s Day when Shamsud-Din Jabbar, a 42-year-old former U.S. Army IT specialist, drove into a crowd of revelers on Sunday, killing 15 and injuring dozens; he was later shot dead by police after emerging from the pickup truck and beginning to fire on responding officers. The F.B.I. has classified the attack as a terrorist act: it said a flag bearing an ISIS logo had been found on the truck as well as evidence of explosive materials.
We strongly condemn the cowardly terrorist attack in New Orleans. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families. May they find strength and solace as they heal from this tragedy.

Prime Minister Modi condemned the terrorist attack in New Orleans, using social media platform X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, “We strongly condemn the cowardly terrorist attack in New Orleans. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families. May they find strength and solace as they heal from this tragedy.”
Anne Kirkpatrick, the police superintendent, described Jabbar as a “terrorist” while FBI investigations showed that before the attack, he had posted several online videos indicating his allegiance to ISIS. Even President Joe Biden condemned the event, describing it as “despicable,” while assuring citizens that the authority is conducting thorough investigation.
It would appear that concerns have also raised their heads regarding this attack while authorities investigate some potential links the attack might hold with a further explosion of a Tesla Cybertruck near a hotel of Trump in Las Vegas, where one lost life, no direct connections made so far, however, with Jabbar.
The tragedy has brought the world together in outrage, with leaders around the world voicing their solidarity with the United States. The attack has also reignited debates on the need for enhanced counter-terrorism strategies and stricter surveillance of individuals with known extremist affiliations. As investigations continue, the global community mourns the innocent lives lost and stands united against the growing threat of terrorism.
