Jaisalmer, Rajasthan – May 8, 2025: In a dramatic development along the India-Pakistan border, a Pakistan Air Force pilot captured by Indian security forces on Thursday after ejecting from a fighter jet that crashed near Jaisalmer in Rajasthan.

According to defense sources, the aircraft reportedly violated Indian airspace during routine patrolling by Indian forces. Upon interception, the pilot ejected before the aircraft went down in a remote desert region. The jet reportedly crashed without causing any civilian or structural damage.
The captured pilot, whose identity has not yet been disclosed by Indian authorities, was swiftly taken into custody by ground forces in the vicinity. He is currently being interrogated by Indian defense and intelligence officials.
Officials have refrained from releasing specific details about the type of aircraft or the nature of the mission it was undertaking at the time of the incident. The Indian Air Force has launched an investigation into the airspace breach and the events leading up to the crash.
Security has been heightened across the border areas of western Rajasthan following the incident. A senior military official confirmed, “The pilot is safe and in Indian custody. He is being treated as per international conventions.”
This marks a significant escalation in tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors, reviving memories of past aerial confrontations. Defense analysts say the incident could spark diplomatic exchanges in the coming days, with both sides expected to issue official statements.
No comments have been made yet by the Ministry of External Affairs or the Pakistan government.
More details are awaited as the investigation unfolds.
