This strategic operation has been seen as a bold statement by India, reaffirming its zero-tolerance policy against cross-border terrorism.

Who Were the Five Terrorists Killed in Operation Sindoor?

1. Mudassar Khadian Khas (alias Abu Jundal) – Lashkar-e-Taiba

A known LeT operative, Mudassar Khadian Khas, also known as Abu Jundal, was reportedly killed in the Indian airstrike. His death has sent shockwaves across terrorist networks in Pakistan. According to ANI, his funeral was held in a government school, led by Hafiz Abdul Rauf, a global terrorist and leader of Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD). The ceremony was attended by top Pakistani military and police officials, highlighting his seniority in the terror ecosystem.

2. Hafiz Muhammed Jameel – Jaish-e-Mohammed

Hafiz Muhammed Jameel, a senior Jaish commander, was also eliminated in the May 7 strikes. He was known for his deep ties within the Jaish hierarchy, being the eldest brother-in-law of Maulana Masood Azhar, the founder of Jaish-e-Mohammed. His death is considered a major blow to the terror outfit’s leadership.

3. Mohammad Yusuf Azhar (alias Ghosi Sahab) – Jaish-e-Mohammed

Another major name neutralized was Mohammad Yusuf Azhar, alias Mohd Salim or Ghosi Sahab. He was not only a top JeM commander but also a key suspect in the 1999 IC-814 hijacking case. He, too, was a brother-in-law of Masood Azhar and played a crucial role in Jaish’s international operations.

4. Khalid (alias Abu Akasha) – Lashkar-e-Taiba

Khalid, also known as Abu Akasha, was reportedly involved in multiple terror strikes in Jammu & Kashmir and had deep links with weapon smuggling routes from Afghanistan. His funeral in Faisalabad was marked by the presence of senior Pakistani Army personnel and the local Deputy Commissioner — a clear indication of the state support these operatives enjoyed.

5. Mohammad Hassan Khan – Jaish-e-Mohammed

A top JeM commander, Mohammad Hassan Khan, son of Mufti Asghar Khan Kashmiri, served as the operational head of Jaish in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). He was allegedly responsible for planning and coordinating cross-border terrorist infiltrations and attacks in J&K. His elimination is a significant success for Indian intelligence and defense forces.

🇮🇳 Operation Sindoor: A Turning Point in India’s Anti-Terror Strategy

Launched in response to the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, Operation Sindoor marks a shift in India’s counter-terror doctrine. By targeting masterminds rather than just foot soldiers, India has delivered a loud and clear message to terror outfits and their backers.

Security experts believe this strike could disrupt terrorist operations in PoK for months, if not longer.

Official Response and Global Impact

While Pakistan has yet to issue a formal acknowledgment of these deaths, intelligence inputs confirm heightened activity in terror camps and political corridors in Islamabad.

Indian officials hailed the operation as a success. “It’s not just retaliation; it’s a clear declaration that terrorism will not be tolerated. Justice has been delivered,” a senior Indian Army official said.

The killing of these five high-profile terrorists has dealt a significant blow to both Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba. With Operation Sindoor, India has not only avenged the Pahalgam attack but has also reaffirmed its strategic and military prowess.
