A social media influencer from Himachal Pradesh, Ishita Pundir, has come under police scrutiny after a Facebook video in which she made controversial remarks about Indian Army personnel triggered widespread outrage and multiple complaints in Sirmaur district.

The influencer, who enjoys a strong following on social media platforms, is facing backlash after she allegedly questioned the personal loyalty of Army men in relationships. In the video, she claimed that while Army personnel remain devoted to the nation, they are not loyal to their partners and made sweeping remarks about their personal lives. The comments quickly went viral and drew sharp criticism from users across platforms.
Soon after the video circulated, several complaints were filed with the Sirmaur police demanding strict action. Locals, social activists, and members of welfare associations termed her remarks offensive and damaging to the reputation of the armed forces. Some complainants even demanded registration of a defamation case, stating that such statements hurt public sentiment and disrespect the dignity of soldiers.
The matter also reached the Sainik Welfare Association in Rajgarh, which wrote to the police seeking action against the influencer. A political complaint was also submitted by a Congress leader, adding further pressure on the authorities. According to police officials, all complaints have been clubbed together and an investigation has been initiated to examine the matter in detail.
Sirmaur Superintendent of Police confirmed that the case is under review and said appropriate legal action would be taken after verifying the facts. Meanwhile, authorities are also trying to trace the context and intent behind the viral video.
Facing growing criticism, Ishita Pundir later issued an apology on social media, saying she regretted her comments and accepted that she made a mistake. However, the apology has failed to calm public anger, with many social media users continuing to demand strict action against her.
