Sikar, Rajasthan | April 20, 2025 — A deeply disturbing case of caste-based violence has emerged from Rajasthan’s Sikar district, where a 19-year-old Dalit youth was allegedly kidnapped, assaulted, and sexually abused by two individuals. The incident reportedly occurred on April 8 but was formally reported on April 16 after the victim’s family filed a complaint.

According to the police, the young man had gone out to watch a wedding procession when the accused called him to a nearby bus stand under the pretext of offering work. He was then taken to a secluded spot, where he was allegedly beaten, stripped, and subjected to unnatural sex acts. The victim also alleged that the assailants urinated on him, used caste-based slurs, and filmed the assault, threatening to release the footage online if he informed anyone.
The victim claimed that he was assaulted on his private parts, hit with a bottle, and mentally tortured. The accused also allegedly threatened to harm his father, who is currently working abroad.
Police Action and Investigation
Deputy Superintendent of Police Arvind Kumar confirmed that an FIR has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
“The victim has undergone a medical examination and his statement has been recorded. Further investigation is underway,” said DSP Kumar.
Political Outrage Over the Incident
The incident has triggered sharp political reactions. Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot strongly criticised the BJP-led state government over the delay in action.
“The trauma was so severe that the young man couldn’t gather the courage to speak up for eight days. This incident reflects the poor state of law and order under the current government,” Gehlot said in a public statement.
Leader of Opposition Tika Ram Jully also condemned the incident, calling it a “shameful reality” and demanding strict legal action.
“A Dalit youth was kidnapped, tortured, sodomised, and urinated upon — this is not a scene from a film, but the horrifying truth of today’s Rajasthan,” Jully stated.
Public Reactions and Demand for Justice
The case has drawn widespread condemnation from civil rights activists and the general public. Social media platforms are flooded with demands for justice under hashtags like #JusticeForSikarVictim and #StopCasteViolence.
Dalit rights groups have called for the arrest of the accused, protection for the victim and his family, and swift prosecution to ensure justice is delivered without delay.
