Fire Breaks Out at VVIP Lounge of Lucknow's Amausi Airport, Controlled After Two Hours of Effort

Amausi Airport Fire Accident: A major fire broke out late Wednesday night at the VVIP lounge near the State Hangar of Lucknow’s Amausi Airport, triggering panic. The fire was brought under control after two hours of intensive efforts by the Sarojininagar fire team.

It started at about 11:15 PM when there was no one in the lounge. Once the employees saw the flames and thick smoke, they immediately started fighting the fire. Not long thereafter, the Sarojininagar Fire Station‘s fire engines arrived at the scene. The fire took two hours to be completely controlled and put out by the firefighters.

Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Mangesh Kumar said that the airport control room had reported the incident, and fire personnel were rushed to the site. Upon arrival, they found that the staff of the airport were already trying to douse the fire.

Ardent with breathing apparatus sets, the firefighters went into the smoke-filled lounge and commenced their operation. Their continuous effort was enough to tame the raging fire despite the dense smoke that hindered visibility.

Preliminary reports indicate a possible short circuit as the primary cause of the incident. The entire lounge was destroyed in the blaze, including the furniture, while the false ceiling also caught fire.

Fortunately, there was no casualty, since the lounge was empty during the incident, and authorities are trying to ascertain the cause of the fire.
