A tragic accident took place near Ahmedabad airport on Thursday afternoon when a plane carrying 245 passengers crashed in the Meghaninagar area. According to local police, the crash happened shortly after the plane took off.

Eyewitnesses saw a huge fireball and thick black smoke rising into the sky. The visuals also showed burning debris scattered across the area near the airport. Fire officer Jayesh Khadia confirmed that the plane caught fire after crashing, and emergency fire tenders were immediately sent to control the blaze.
Ahmedabad police commissioner GS Malik said, “The plane crashed in Meghaninagar, close to the airport, but it is still not confirmed what kind of plane it was.”
Sources from the aviation department told Reuters that the aircraft was heading to Birmingham. However, official confirmation is still awaited.
TV reports suggest the crash occurred during takeoff. Shocking visuals aired on news channels show people being carried away on stretchers and taken into ambulances. Rescue teams worked quickly to help those injured, while authorities cordoned off the area to avoid further chaos.
