Pregnant Woman Allegedly Murdered by Husband in Chhattisgarh’s Ambikapur, Forensic Findings Reveal Brutality

A deeply disturbing case has come to light from Chhattisgarh’s Ambikapur region, where a 23-year-old pregnant woman allegedly lost her life in what police are calling a brutal act of domestic violence. The incident has left the entire Sakariya village shaken, especially after the horrifying details emerged during the investigation.

The victim, Heerabai, was allegedly attacked on May 14 by her husband, Pradeep Agaria. What initially looked like a routine hospital admission quickly turned into a criminal investigation when doctors declared her dead on arrival at Ambikapur Medical College Hospital. According to officials, the accused had brought her body to the hospital claiming she had died in a road accident, but soon fled the scene, raising suspicion.

As the postmortem examination began, the truth appeared far more horrifying than anyone expected. Medical reports confirmed that Heerabai was around three months pregnant. Forensic experts also recovered a long iron file-like object from her body, along with evidence of multiple deep injuries across her head, abdomen, and other parts. Doctors noted at least 18 severe injury marks, suggesting repeated and deliberate assault.

Investigators believe she was first brutally beaten with a heavy wooden object, which caused serious head fractures. The condition of other injuries indicated prolonged violence, making it clear that this was not a sudden act but a sustained attack.

Local police say the accused initially tried to pass off the entire incident as an accident, but the postmortem findings completely contradicted his version. He has since gone missing, and multiple police teams are searching for him.

Family members have also made serious allegations, saying the accused had a history of violence and frequently assaulted his wife. Despite this, the couple had stayed together and had four young children. At the time of the incident, those children were reportedly present in the house and witnessed parts of the horrifying aftermath, crying for help as their mother was taken away.

What makes the case even more tragic is that Heerabai was pregnant again, expecting her fifth child. Her family says repeated complaints had been made earlier, but no strict action was taken against the accused.

Police officials have assured that a detailed investigation is underway and the accused will be arrested soon. Meanwhile, the incident has once again raised serious questions about domestic violence, silent suffering inside homes, and the failure to intervene in time before tragedy strikes.
