A high-speed Lamborghini allegedly driven by Shivam Mishra, the son of tobacco businessman KK Mishra, created chaos on Kanpur’s VIP Road on Sunday afternoon, leaving at least six people injured. The incident occurred around 3:15 pm near Rev-3 Mall, one of the city’s busiest commercial areas, triggering panic among pedestrians and motorists.

According to police and eyewitness accounts, the luxury Lamborghini Revuelto was being driven recklessly at an excessive speed. Several onlookers alleged that the driver appeared to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. The supercar reportedly went out of control and rammed into people standing along the roadside and multiple vehicles within seconds.
Eyewitnesses said the car first hit an auto-rickshaw before crashing into a parked Royal Enfield motorcycle. The impact was so severe that the motorcycle rider was flung nearly ten feet into the air. The Lamborghini mounted the motorcycle’s front wheel and dragged it for several metres before smashing into an electric pole and coming to a halt.
Among the injured was Taufiq Ahmed, who sustained serious leg injuries. Speaking to The Chandigarh News from the hospital, Ahmed said he was standing beside his parked motorcycle when the speeding car struck him without any warning. Other victims suffered fractures, bruises, and multiple injuries, and were rushed to a private hospital for treatment.
Instead of stopping after the collision, Shivam Mishra allegedly attempted to flee the scene. His security personnel, who were following him in another vehicle, reportedly tried to shield him and misbehaved with members of the public. This further enraged passersby, who smashed the Lamborghini’s windows and forcibly pulled the driver out of the car.
Police arrived shortly after to control the situation and rescue the accused from the agitated crowd. Mishra was taken into custody and shifted to a hospital under police supervision. Confirming the incident, DCP (Central) Atul Kumar Srivastava said the luxury vehicle had been seized and a detailed investigation was underway.
The Lamborghini Revuelto, reportedly valued at over ₹10 crore, is registered under a Northwest Delhi (Rohini) RTO code and has suffered extensive damage. The vehicle is currently in police custody as investigators examine CCTV footage, eyewitness statements, and medical reports to determine whether the driver was intoxicated at the time of the crash.
The incident has reignited concerns over drunk driving, road safety, and reckless behavior involving high-end vehicles on public roads. Local residents have demanded strict legal action, stating that no individual should be above the law due to wealth or influence.
Police officials said appropriate charges will be filed based on the findings of the investigation and assured that action will be taken strictly as per the law. Further developments are awaited as the probe continues.
