According to the complaint, the woman first came into contact with Umesh Sharma around four years ago through Instagram. What began as online conversations gradually turned into a close relationship. She stated that over time, the two met frequently and traveled to several cities together, where they stayed at hotels and developed physical relations.
The woman alleged that Sharma assured her of marriage during the course of the relationship, which led her to trust him. She claimed that these assurances played a key role in continuing the relationship over the years.
However, the situation reportedly changed when she began insisting on marriage. The woman told police that Sharma started distancing himself and allegedly threatened to make her private photos and videos public if she continued to pressure him. She further claimed that he shared her phone number with his friends, which resulted in repeated unwanted calls and harassment.
Distressed by the alleged threats and humiliation, the woman approached the police and lodged a complaint.
