
Yogi Adityanath Cabinet Meeting: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced a series of transformative developments aimed at bolstering the state’s infrastructure, healthcare, and industrial sectors during a recent cabinet meeting. The decisions are expected to enhance connectivity, healthcare access, and industrial growth across the region.
The government approved the construction of a bridge over the Ganga River from Hetapatti to Salori, along with a parallel bridge resembling the Signature Bridge over the Yamuna River in Prayagraj. A four-lane bridge connecting Salori and Hetapatti in Jhunsi also received approval, aiming to improve regional connectivity. Additionally, the Ganga Expressway extension will link Prayagraj with Mirzapur, Bhadohi, Varanasi, and Chandauli, further connecting to the Purvanchal Expressway.
Medical advancements include the establishment of multi-super specialty hospitals in Prayagraj, Varanasi, and Agra. Prayagraj Municipal Corporation will issue bonds to fund a state-of-the-art hospital. New medical colleges will be developed in underserved districts such as Hathras, Kasganj, and Bagpat under the PPP model. The government has also approved upgrading the 166-bedded district hospital in Balrampur into a medical college.
The cabinet approved the investment proposal for ₹10,000 crore from the industrial sector at Moradabad. Special incentives and subsidies were sanctioned for mega-category industrial units under the UP Industrial Investment and Employment Promotion Policy 2022. Tata Technologies will partner with the government to upgrade 62 ITIs and establish five CIIITs. The cabinet approved the land subsidies of Ashok Leyland under the FDI initiative.
The Prayagraj-Chitrakoot Development Region project, modeled after the Smart Cities Region, received approval. Discussions were held regarding the creation of a Varanasi-Vindhya Development Region to enhance economic potential. The government also sanctioned the distribution of free smartphones to youth under the Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Scheme.
In legal and governance improvements, the cabinet approved the establishment of the Directorate of Prosecution under Section 20 of the Indian Civil Protection Code 2023. This initiative aims to streamline legal procedures and enhance administrative efficiency.
Prayagraj emerged as a significant pilgrimage center, welcoming over 9.25 crore devotees in the past week, reflecting its cultural and spiritual significance.
These initiatives underscore the government’s commitment to transforming Uttar Pradesh into a hub of connectivity, healthcare excellence, and industrial growth.
