Uttarakhand Pauri Bus accident: In a tragic accident that occurred on Sunday, a bus carrying 22 passengers fell into a 100-metre-deep gorge in the Srinagar area of Pauri district, Uttarakhand. The mishap claimed the lives of five individuals, while 17 others sustained injuries, according to officials.

The accident occurred at Dahalchauri where the bus had lost control and plunged into the steep gorge. Local people responded immediately and participated in rescue activities. Injured passengers were shifted to Pauri district hospital for primary treatment.

Eight of the passengers were referred to a more advanced health centre in Srinagar, as they were in a critical condition. Pauri Deputy Commissioner Ashish Chauhan took charge of overseeing the rescue and relief operations.
Four persons died at the accident site while one died en route due to injuries. The bus was on its way from Pauri to Dahalchauri when the mishap occurred.

The State Disaster Response Force was prompt at the spot, assisting in evacuating the children. Authorities launched an investigation to find out why the accident took place, ordering the Transport Department to study the situation.

The Chief Minister, Pushkar Dhami, has expressed his deep sorrow over the loss and sent condolences along with prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured. The community and authorities are cooperating to ensure prompt support and assistance to those affected by this tragic incident.
