In Shahjahanpur’s Chowk Kotwali area, a woman was brutally assaulted by her husband after she resisted his demand for unnatural sex. The husband allegedly attempted to strangle her and threatened to kill her. Initially, the woman lodged a complaint at the local police station, but no action was taken. She then approached the Superintendent of Police (SP), who ordered an FIR to be registered.
The victim alleged that on the night of January 5, around 1 a.m., her husband once again pressured her for unnatural sex. When she resisted, he began assaulting her mercilessly, injuring her hand in the process. He then struck her on the head with an iron lock, causing severe head injuries, and later tried to strangle her in an attempt to kill her.
The victim filed a complaint at the police station that same night, but the police did not take immediate action. Frustrated, she met with the SP and submitted a written complaint. Following the SP’s intervention, an FIR was registered against the accused. The police have conducted the woman’s medical examination and have begun an investigation into the case.
