The incident occurred in the “City of Hopes” locality under Unnao Kotwali police station limits. Haseen Ahmad, a local tempo driver and the woman’s husband, has been desperately knocking on the doors of police officials, seeking justice and the safe return of his wife and family assets.

According to Haseen Ahmad, his 43-year-old wife disappeared nearly a month ago along with her nephew Dilshad, a resident of Bithoor area in Kanpur. The woman not only abandoned her five daughters and one son but also allegedly took away jewelry worth lakhs of rupees, including ornaments belonging to her married daughter and elderly mother.

With tears in his eyes and his children by his side, Haseen Ahmad told reporters outside the Unnao SP office, “My wife deliberately picked fights with me and then escaped with Dilshad. She has ruined our family. I don’t know how to take care of my children now.”

The helpless father stated that he first approached the Bithoor police station in Kanpur to report the matter, but his plea was ignored. With no progress on the case, he then reached out to the Superintendent of Police in Unnao, pleading for urgent action.

CO Sadar Sonam Singh confirmed the receipt of the missing person’s report, stating that the woman was reported missing on May 4, 2025. Based on the written complaint submitted by Haseen Ahmad, an FIR has been lodged, and an investigation is currently underway. “We are treating the matter with utmost seriousness and are examining all angles, including the possibility of abetment and theft,” said CO Singh.

The story has sent shockwaves across the local community, with neighbors and relatives expressing disbelief. Many are questioning how a woman could leave behind six children and walk away from her responsibilities.

Meanwhile, the six abandoned children are left in a state of emotional turmoil, missing their mother and clinging to their father for support. Locals have stepped in to provide moral and occasional financial assistance to the distressed family.
