UGC-NET Exam Postponed : The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Monday announced that the UGC-NET examination scheduled for January 15 has been postponed in view of Pongal, Makar Sankranti, and other festivals. The date for the postponed examination will be declared later.

According to the NTA statement, “The National Testing Agency has received representations to postpone the UGC-NET December 2024 examination on account of Pongal, Makar Sankranti, and other festivals on January 15. In the interest of aspirants, the NTA has decided to postpone the exam scheduled for January 15 only.”

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin had written to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on January 7, citing a rescheduling of the examination as it coincides with the Pongal festival. The NTA has decided following this appeal coupled with many others by various stakeholders.

All exams scheduled on January 16 will be held as scheduled. The UGC-NET examination for 85 subjects started on January 3 and was to end on January 16.

Students are requested to keep track of the NTA website for new dates related to the examination on January 15.
