The new viral sensation known as “Monalisa” is not from Indore but is from Maheshwar, Madhya Pradesh. She has been staying in Maheshwar for several years with her family, who recently attended the Mahakumbh festival in Prayagraj. At present, her grandfather stays at her home while the rest of the family is away.
The viral girl, Monalisa, has captivated audiences with her striking eyes, and her sudden rise to fame has brought her much attention. Though she has been seen claiming to be from Indore in several videos, this is not true. Her brother, Jai Bhosle, has confirmed that the news of her returning to Madhya Pradesh is false. He stated that she is still at the Mahakumbh festival and expressed concern for her well-being, as media attention and constant recording have made her uncomfortable.
Monalisa’s family, including her grandfather Laxman Bhosle, has been involved in selling malas for years. They craft malas using river pearls and genuine rudraksha beads, which are brought from Nepal. Laxman Bhosle confirmed that their home is in Maheshwar, and Monalisa is his granddaughter. He voiced concern for her as she has been harassed by camera-wielding individuals, making it difficult for her to concentrate on her work.
Locals have clarified that Maheshwar, a small town, is the true home of Monalisa, not Indore. Monalisa has been using the name of Indore to attract more attention due to its bigger recognition.
Her neighbors have shared that Monalisa’s claim about returning to Madhya Pradesh after the Kumbh is also false. Her father, Vijay Singh Bhosle, had mentioned taking her back home, but now the family has decided to stay put at the Kumbh, as they believe it’s not safe for her to be left alone in Maheshwar.
Monalisa’s popularity at the Mahakumbh has turned her life into a whirlwind. The attention from media and people has made her anxious, and now her family plans to support her until they return to Maheshwar after the festival concludes.
Who is Monalisa?
Monalisa, hailing from Maheshwar, has become the face of spirituality and devotion at the ongoing Mahakumbh Mela. Her real name is Monalisa, though she is fondly called “Moni” at home. With her beauty and charm, she quickly caught the eyes of many at the festival. However, her rising fame has shifted the focus away from her original purpose, and the overwhelming attention has taken a toll on her. Monalisa’s Kumbh had to leave halfway through just because of the increased recording and harassing by media men, which hurts her.
Now a simple mala seller’s journey on the internet has taken some new dimension that her actual saga lies in being a town local of Maheshwar.
