Tarn Taran Law College Shooting: A shocking incident of gun violence rocked a law college in Punjab’s Tarn Taran district on Monday, when a first-year student was shot dead inside a classroom, allegedly by a fellow student, who later turned the gun on himself. Police said the victim, identified as Sandeep Kaur, died on the spot after being shot in the head. The accused, Prince Raj, who was also a first-year student at the same college, allegedly entered the classroom carrying a pistol even before the class had begun. Without any immediate confrontation, he opened fire on Kaur, killing her instantly.
After the shooting, Raj reportedly used the same weapon to shoot himself inside the classroom. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where his condition remains critical, according to police officials.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Jagbir Singh confirmed the sequence of events and said that the exact motive behind the crime is still unclear. “The accused shot the female student and later shot himself. We are investigating all possible angles to determine what led to this tragic incident,” he said.
