A horrifying crime has come to light in Uttar Pradesh’s Siddharthnagar district where a young girl was allegedly blackmailed and raped by multiple men after an obscene video of her was circulated. The case has caused outrage across the region.
According to police officials, the incident began when the victim fell in love with a man named Junaid. During their relationship, Junaid allegedly recorded a private video of the girl without her consent. He then used the clip to blackmail her and repeatedly sexually assaulted her.
When Junaid later went to Mumbai for work, he handed over the obscene video to one of his friends. The friend also began blackmailing and raping the girl. Over time, the video reportedly reached more men, leading to repeated assaults by several individuals.
Police sources revealed that as many as ten men have been named in the complaint. The accused include Junaid, Haleem, Mumtaz, Rayyan, Shadab, Hafiq, Vaidya, and Sirajuddin. Investigators suspect that more people could be involved in the crime.
The victim, unable to bear the trauma, finally confided in her family and disclosed the entire ordeal. Her family then approached the police, and an FIR was registered under serious sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Information Technology Act.
A senior police officer said that the case is being treated with utmost seriousness. Technical evidence is being gathered, and a search is underway to arrest all the accused involved in the crime.
The incident has sparked anger among residents of Siddharthnagar. Locals have demanded strict punishment for the accused, while women’s rights groups have called for stronger laws and swift justice in cases involving cyber blackmail and sexual assault.
Police have assured that all culprits will face strict action under relevant laws relating to sexual violence, criminal intimidation, and digital exploitation.
