Saif Ali Khan Stabbed in Bandra Satguru Sharan Apartment: Carpenter Questioned Over Suspect's Similarity

Saif Ali Khan Stabbed in Bandra Satguru Sharan Apartment: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was left shaken after an ordeal in which he became the victim of a horrifying knife attack inside his Bandra apartment early this week. Eyewitnesses spotted the attacker, who stabbed the actor multiple times, running out of the “Satguru Sharan” building, wearing a red scarf and carrying a backpack. The incident has sent shockwaves all around the film industry and raised questions about security in high-profile residences.

Mumbai police on Friday questioned a carpenter named Waris Ali Salmani who had been working at Saif’s residence just two days before the attack. The carpenter was questioned as he was identified to be similar in appearance to the intruder based on eyewitness accounts. According to police sources, Salmani was hired by a contractor for some renovation work in Saif’s apartment and had no direct interaction with the actor.

An official said that the suspect ran out of the building in a hurry and matched the description of Salmani, and he was brought in for questioning. But so far, no evidence against him has been found.

To catch the culprit, nearly 30 special teams have been sent to different parts of Mumbai. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis assured the public that police have gathered crucial leads and are confident of apprehending the culprit soon.

“Police investigation is progressing rapidly. They have several clues, and I am confident the suspect will be arrested shortly,” Fadnavis said in a press briefing.

Maharashtra Minister Yogesh Kadam dismissed any nexus with underworld gangs behind the attack, saying the motive appeared to be robbery. “This incident is not linked to organized crime. It seems to be a robbery attempt that escalated violently,” Kadam said.

The actor, who was taken to Lilavati Hospital immediately after the attack, is recovering well. “Saif Ali Khan is really lucky. The knife had passed by his spine by just two millimeters. If it had gone a little further, he would have had a serious injury. He is coming along very well, and the danger is averted,” said Dr. Niraj Uttamani, COO of Lilavati Hospital.

The incident has sent shockwaves and raised concerns over celebrity security in Mumbai, as several Bollywood stars are said to have tightened the screws at their residences.

While investigations continue, fans and well-wishers have flooded social media with messages of support for Saif Ali Khan, who, thankfully, has escaped life-threatening injuries.
