Ram Mandir Donation Controversy: Akhilesh Yadav Alleges Missing Funds, Trust Issues Clarification

A fresh controversy has erupted around the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya after Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav alleged that crores of rupees from temple offerings had gone missing. The claim has triggered a political debate and drawn widespread attention due to the immense religious significance of the Ram Temple for millions of devotees in India and across the world.

Ram Mandir Donation Controversy: Akhilesh Yadav Alleges Missing Funds, Trust Issues Clarification

Akhilesh Yadav described the reports as deeply sensitive for followers of Lord Ram and questioned the transparency of the temple trust’s financial management. In a strongly worded statement, he said that the alleged disappearance of donation funds was a matter of serious concern and could undermine the faith of devotees who contribute to the temple with devotion and trust.

The former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister stated that the situation was embarrassing for the temple trust and questioned why no senior official had come forward immediately to address the allegations. He further urged the judiciary to take suo motu cognizance of the matter, arguing that it directly concerns the religious sentiments and faith of the global Hindu community.

Yadav also criticized the silence of the government, suggesting that a lack of prompt clarification was raising further questions. His remarks quickly gained traction on social media and among political circles, with supporters and critics debating the issue extensively.

Amid the growing controversy, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust General Secretary Champat Rai issued a statement rejecting any suggestion of financial irregularities. He said that the trust’s accounts undergo periodic internal audits and that the process is conducted with complete transparency.

According to Rai, representatives of the trust and officials from the State Bank of India participate in the audit exercise, which typically continues for several days. He clarified that the current audit process is already underway and that, so far, no significant discrepancy or irregularity has been detected.

The trust maintained that the audit is a routine administrative procedure and cautioned against drawing conclusions before the process is completed. Rai emphasized that there is currently no evidence to support claims that donation funds are missing.

The Ram Mandir in Ayodhya remains one of the most important religious sites for Hindus worldwide. Since the temple’s inauguration, it has attracted millions of devotees and received substantial donations from pilgrims visiting the shrine. As a result, any allegation related to the management of temple funds naturally attracts public scrutiny and intense media attention.

For now, the controversy remains a matter of conflicting claims. While Akhilesh Yadav has demanded accountability and a thorough examination of the allegations, the temple trust insists that its financial systems are functioning normally and that ongoing audits have not revealed any wrongdoing.

The coming days are likely to be crucial as more details emerge and the audit process progresses. Until then, the debate over the allegations continues, with both political observers and devotees closely watching developments surrounding one of India’s most significant religious institutions.
