A 28-year-old medical student who suffered critical injuries after allegedly being run over by a car in Rajahmundry on August 3 has died during treatment, turning the case into a tragedy that has left her family demanding strict action against those responsible.
The victim, identified as Dr. Priyanka, was allegedly struck by a car near Prasadithya Mall on AV Apparao Road in Rajahmundry. She sustained severe injuries in the incident and remained under treatment at a hospital before eventually succumbing to her injuries.
According to Priyanka’s family, two young men were inside the car at the time of the incident. The family has alleged that the vehicle did not simply strike her once but hit her multiple times before the occupants fled the scene.

The grieving father also questioned the alleged lack of response from Home Minister V Anitha and district officials.

“I cannot bear that no one responded after my daughter was crushed by a car,” Venkatesh said, expressing his pain over what he alleged was official inaction.

Venkatesh had earlier said that the family was not thinking about organ donation and was instead hoping that doctors could save his daughter.
“We are only trying to save my daughter, who is battling between life and death. We have no thoughts of organ donation. My eyes have run out of tears,” he had said during the period when Priyanka was undergoing treatment.
Those hopes were eventually shattered after Priyanka succumbed to her injuries.
