Pritish Nandy Passes Away: A renowned figure in Indian literature and films, Nandy has left a legacy that will touch many. Tributes are pouring in from all over the country, mainly from his close friends and colleagues from the entertainment world.

Actor Anupam Kher took to social media to express his deep sorrow. In a heartfelt post on X (formerly Twitter), Kher described Nandy as his “support system” and a “great source of strength” during the early years of his career in Mumbai. He shared fond memories of their time together, stating, “Deeply, deeply saddened and shocked to know about the demise of one of my dearest and closest friends, Pritish Nandy! He was a great poet, writer, filmmaker, and an incredibly brave and unique editor/journalist.

Reminisced Kher, “We shared so much together. He was one of the most fearless human beings I’d met till then—at least so I thought -always larger than life. Learnt so much from him. Nowadays we didn’t see much of each other. There was time, however when we were together more than ourselves! Never gonna forget the moment when he spring a surprise for putting me on the cover page of Filmfare and most importantly for The Illustrated Weekly.

He continued, “He was the true definition of यारों का यार! I will miss you and our times together, my friend. Rest well.”

Filmfare paid tribute to Nandy, saying he was a “poet, writer, and filmmaker,” and extended its heartfelt condolences to his loved ones during this trying time.

Pritish Nandy was more than a filmmaker; he was a bold writer and contributor to Indian media. His work will be remembered for generations to come.
