The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has added a touch of star power to Bihar’s political landscape by nominating Bhojpuri superstar Pawan Singh for the upcoming Bihar Legislative Council elections. The announcement, made as part of the party’s candidate list for the biennial MLC polls, has immediately become one of the most talked-about political developments in the state, bringing together the worlds of entertainment and politics once again.

Pawan Singh, one of the most recognizable faces in the Bhojpuri film and music industry, has enjoyed immense popularity across Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and several Hindi-speaking regions.
