Fadnavis and Bihar Deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha went to the Siddhivinayak Temple to pay their respects and seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha before the ceremony. Talking to the media, he was hopeful and said, “Maharashtra’s mandate has sent a message that India is on the path to becoming a developed nation of the 21st century.”

While Shinde’s status is ambiguous, Shiv Sena MLAs have asked him to accept a deputy chief minister’s post. Party MLA Bharat Gogavale said this would help the party and also provide stability to the new government.

In a statement recently, Fadnavis had said that he believed Shinde would cooperate with him since Mahayuti workers had always wished that he was in the new government. The two had already met Governor CP Radhakrishnan in advance and had staked their claim to form the new government. The Governor had letters of recommendation to recommend Fadnavis as CM from both Shinde and Pawar.
