As the sun shimmered over the white marble, JD Vance and his family were seen soaking in the grandeur of the Taj Mahal. Sources close to the visit revealed that the Vice President took a special interest in the history and architecture of the monument, often pausing to listen to stories of Mughal-era artistry.
In view of this high-profile visit, a security drill was conducted a day prior at the Taj premises. Local and national security agencies collaborated to ensure flawless arrangements for the Vice President’s arrival.
Grand Hospitality at Its Finest
The Vice President and his family spent their Indian nights in sheer luxury – at the Grand Presidential Suite, reportedly costing ₹16 lakh per night. With a dedicated medical team and round-the-clock hospitality staff, the US delegation experienced India’s legendary warmth and opulence firsthand.
A Visit with Purpose: Strengthening Indo-US Ties
JD Vance’s India tour, which began in Delhi on Monday, is being seen as a pivotal moment in fostering stronger defence, technology, and trade ties between the two nations. Speaking during his Jaipur visit to the Amber Fort, Vance addressed the ongoing concerns about the Trump administration’s paused tariff regime.
“Critics have attacked my president, President Trump, for starting a trade war in an effort to bring back the jobs of the past, but nothing could be further from the truth,” he said.
Emphasising mutual growth, Vance continued,
“He seeks to rebalance global trade so that America, with friends like India, can build a future worth having for all of our people together.”
Roadmap for the Future
In a major takeaway, JD Vance announced that terms of reference for a future trade agreement between India and the United States have been finalised. The ambitious goal? Doubling bilateral trade to a staggering USD 500 billion by 2030.
