Apple Security: The Indian government’s Computer Emergency Response Team has issued a high-severity alert for Apple users of iPhone, iPad, MacBook, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and Vision Pro, advising them to install the latest security update immediately.

In a recent announcement regarding vulnerabilities in Apple products, CERT-IN reported, “Several vulnerabilities have been identified in Apple devices that could enable attackers to access sensitive information, execute arbitrary code, bypass security restrictions, cause denial of service (DoS), and carry out spoofing attacks on the targeted system.”

Apple Security: The latest leak affects the following software versions

  • Apple iOS versions before 17.6 and iPadOS versions before 17.6
  • Apple iOS versions before 16.7.9 and iPadOS versions before 16.7.9
  • Apple macOS Sonoma versions before 14.6
  • Apple macOS Ventura versions before 13.6.8
  • Apple macOS Monterey versions before 12.7.6

The latest leak impacts the following versions:

  • Apple watchOS versions before 10.6
  • Apple tvOS versions before 17.6
  • Apple visionOS versions before 1.3
  • Apple Safari versions before 17.6

CERT-In recommends that Apple users update their devices to the latest security patches, as Apple has addressed these vulnerabilities in recent updates.

In May, CERT-In issued a similar warning for users of Safari, Vision Pro, MacBooks, and Apple Watches, highlighting a vulnerability that could be exploited by potential attackers. The advisory noted that these vulnerabilities stemmed from various issues, including improper validation in Bluetooth, MediaRemote, Photos, Safari, and Webkit components. Additionally, privacy-related concerns were found in ExtensionKit, Share Sheet, memory corruption, lock screen, and timing side channels.
