Russia-Ukraine Conflict: On Monday, India advocated for ‘dialogue and diplomacy’ between Ukraine and Russia as Prime Minister Narendra Modi traveled to Moscow. Modi is set to hold talks with Vladimir Putin on Tuesday during a bilateral summit.

“The solution to the Russia-Ukraine conflict cannot be found on the battleground. This is also the view of the global south and naturally requires both parties to resolve the conflict through dialogue and diplomacy,” Indian government sources told news agency ANI.
The war between Ukraine and Russia entered its third year in February with no clear end in sight. It will also be a key topic of discussion as Joe Biden hosts world leaders for the NATO summit this week in the US.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov shared that Modi and Putin will begin their discussions around noon on Tuesday. However, the two leaders are not expected to make any statements to the press following their meeting.
“Around noon, Putin and Modi will start talking. We anticipate a private conversation, followed by Russian-Indian talks over an official breakfast,” Peskov told the state-owned TASS news agency.
