A violent altercation in Himachal Pradesh’s popular tourist destination Kasol has sparked concern among local residents and visitors alike after a young man was shot in the leg during a clash involving a group of tourists from Punjab. According to Kullu Superintendent of Police Madan Lal Kaushal, the confrontation occurred on Saturday when a dispute broke out between local residents and a group of individuals who had arrived from Amritsar. While the exact cause of the altercation is still under investigation, police officials say the situation escalated rapidly, resulting in the use of a firearm.
During the clash, a local resident identified as Yuvraj sustained a gunshot wound to his leg. Eyewitnesses in the area reported panic and chaos after the sound of gunfire echoed through the locality. Residents immediately alerted the police, who rushed to the scene and initiated emergency action.
Law enforcement officials acted swiftly and managed to apprehend four suspects shortly after the incident. Police teams also recovered the weapon allegedly used in the shooting.
