Ghaziabad, April 28, 2025: Panic gripped the bustling Rajnagar District Centre (RDC) area in Ghaziabad on Monday after a sudden fire broke out in a Gaur mall, sending clouds of smoke billowing into the sky. Shoppers and staff hurriedly evacuated the premises as firefighters rushed to the scene to battle the growing blaze.

According to initial reports, fire tenders arrived at the spot within minutes, working swiftly to control the fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby establishments. Visuals from the scene showed thick smoke pouring out of the building, while emergency crews cordoned off the area to ensure public safety. So far, no injuries have been reported, but officials are maintaining a strict vigil as the situation unfolds. Further details are awaited.

Earlier in the day, a devastating fire had also been reported in Lucknow’s Fazullaganj area, near the Second Radha Krishna Temple in Madiyaon. The inferno destroyed nearly 100 huts, displacing dozens of families and leaving the local community in shock. Multiple gas cylinder explosions during the fire only worsened the chaos, triggering widespread panic among residents.

Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Mangesh Kumar shared that the Lucknow fire department received an emergency call around 8:48 AM, and fire tenders reached the spot within 10 to 15 minutes. Eyewitnesses described heart-wrenching scenes of families scrambling to safety, clutching whatever belongings they could salvage.

Meanwhile, in Ghaziabad, firefighting operations at the Rajnagar RDC mall are still ongoing. Authorities have urged citizens to stay away from the area to facilitate smooth emergency response work.

Today’s twin incidents underline the importance of fire safety preparedness, especially in densely populated urban areas. Our thoughts are with all those affected.
