Washington D.C.: Former U.S. President Donald Trump has once again signaled his willingness to mediate in the long-standing Kashmir conflict, expressing admiration for the leadership shown by both India and Pakistan in recent times.

Taking to his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump shared a message aimed at both nations. “I’m very proud of the strong and unwavering leadership of both India and Pakistan for recognizing that it’s time to put an end to hostilities,” he stated.
In a surprising yet familiar tone, Trump suggested that he would be open to working with both countries to help find a resolution to the Kashmir issue — a matter that has remained unresolved for decades. “I will work with you both to see if, after a thousand years, we can finally reach a solution to the Kashmir problem,” he wrote.
Beyond diplomacy, Trump also hinted at a significant economic angle. He pledged to expand trade relations with both India and Pakistan, emphasizing his vision for mutual economic growth. “I am going to increase trade, substantially, with both India and Pakistan,” he added.
Trump’s remarks come at a time when regional tensions occasionally flare up, yet diplomatic backchannels remain active. His statement is being seen by many as a bid to regain geopolitical relevance, especially with a new election season approaching in the United States.
While Trump’s past offers to mediate on Kashmir were met with mixed reactions — with India traditionally opposing third-party involvement — his latest comments are likely to spark fresh debate on international diplomacy in South Asia.
