HC Directs Police to Act on Unnatural Death of Student Akash Khajuria

Akash Khajuria Death Case: In a significant development, the Punjab and Haryana High Court has instructed the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) to make a decision within one month on the representation filed by Bharat Bhushan Khajuria, seeking action in the case of his son, Akash Khajuria’s unnatural death. Akash, a 20-year-old BSc Radiology student at CGC Janjeri, tragically passed away on March 22 under suspicious circumstances.

The petition, filed by the distraught father, seeks an investigation under the supervision of senior officers or the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to look into the case. Akash Khajuria has expressed concerns about the local police’s handling of the investigation, claiming that the authorities have been negligent and have failed to give the case the attention it deserves.

Bharat Bhushan Khajuria, a resident of Shakti Nagar in Jammu, submitted a representation to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Mohali on April 7, seeking immediate action. Despite the submission, no significant progress has been made in the investigation so far. In his plea, Khajuria alleges that the local police disregarded his complaint and forced him to sign blank papers while taking his son’s body.

Khajuria has raised concerns over the role of Akash’s roommate at Amyra City in Kharar, and a close friend, both of whom he suspects may have suspicious connections to the incident. According to the family, Akash’s death is not a simple case of an accident or suicide, but rather something that requires thorough investigation.

Akash, an ambitious student, had a promising future ahead. His sudden and mysterious death has left the family in a state of shock and despair. The lack of progress in the investigation has only deepened their grief, prompting the High Court to step in and urge the authorities to take swift and effective action.

This decision by the Punjab and Haryana High Court comes as a ray of hope for the grieving family, who have been seeking justice for their son. The court’s intervention is seen as a call for transparency and accountability in the investigation, emphasizing the need for a fair and impartial probe.

As the court sets a deadline for the SSP to make a decision, the family hopes that justice will prevail, and the truth behind Akash’s death will be uncovered. The case remains under scrutiny, with the police expected to take immediate action to address the concerns raised by the family and ensure a thorough investigation into the matter.
