Gunshots were fired at the home of Cricket Canada president Arvinder Khosa in Surrey, British Columbia, in the early hours of May 20, leaving the neighbourhood shaken and police scrambling to piece together what appears to be a targeted attack.

The incident took place around 4:40 AM in the Newton area when residents suddenly heard multiple gunshots. Within minutes, Surrey Police Service officers rushed to the scene and found clear damage to the property. At least five bullet marks were visible on the door, windows, and the rear side of the house.

Thankfully, no one inside the home was injured, even though the house was occupied at the time of the firing. The sudden attack has raised serious concerns about safety in the area, especially as such incidents are often linked to extortion attempts in recent months.

While police have not officially confirmed the motive, early investigation hints suggest that extortion could be behind the shooting. The case has now been taken over by the Surrey Police Service Extortion Response Team, which is working closely with forensic experts to gather evidence from the scene, including CCTV footage and any available digital traces.

Authorities have also appealed to the public for help, urging anyone with dashcam recordings or suspicious activity near 57 Avenue and 148 Street during the time of the incident to come forward.

Arvinder Khosa, who heads Cricket Canada, has confirmed that his residence was targeted but has not shared further details. The incident has understandably sparked concern within both the sporting and local community, as investigations continue to uncover who was behind the attack and why.
