Chandigarh Schools Receive Fresh Bomb Threat Emails; Police and Bomb Squads Rush to Multiple Campuses

Chandigarh once again woke up to tension on Thursday morning after several well-known schools received fresh bomb threat emails, triggering panic among students, parents, and staff members. The messages, similar to earlier hoax threats, quickly put the entire city’s school security system on alert.

As soon as the emails surfaced, police teams rushed to the affected campuses, including St Stephen’s School in Sector 45, Delhi Public School in Sector 40, and Chitkara International School in Sector 25. Within minutes, bomb disposal squads, dog units, and emergency response teams began detailed checks inside classrooms, corridors, playgrounds, and surrounding areas.

Parents gathered outside school gates in worry as authorities began evacuation procedures in some institutions. Many students were taken to safe zones while security personnel combed every corner of the buildings. After hours of intensive checking, officials confirmed that no suspicious object was found and all schools were declared safe.

Police officials said the situation is being taken very seriously, especially as this is the fourth such wave of bomb threat emails targeting Chandigarh schools in recent months. Earlier, similar threats had also been sent to other institutions and even some government offices, raising concerns about a coordinated pattern of cyber hoaxes.

Cyber teams have now been assigned to trace the origin of the emails. Investigators are examining digital footprints, server data, and possible international links behind the messages. Authorities believe the intent appears to be creating panic rather than causing real harm, but they are not taking any chances.

While normal classes resumed after clearance, attendance remained lower than usual as many parents chose to keep their children at home for safety reasons. Schools have assured families that additional security measures will be strengthened if required.

The Chandigarh Police has urged citizens not to panic and avoid spreading rumours on social media. Officials have also warned that strict legal action will be taken once the individuals behind these repeated threats are identified.

For now, the city remains on alert, with security agencies closely monitoring the situation to ensure that schools continue to function safely without disruption.
