Gurugram Doctor Runs SUV Over Delivery Worker Multiple Times, Shocking CCTV Video Goes Viral

A shocking hit-and-run incident in Gurugram has sparked widespread outrage after a 43-year-old delivery worker was allegedly run over multiple times by an SUV. The incident took place in Sector 93 late Sunday night and was captured on CCTV. The video, which surfaced on social media on Monday, shows a black Scorpio deliberately ramming into a delivery agent and nearby motorcycles before speeding away.

The injured delivery executive has been identified as Tinku. He was reportedly standing at a roadside pickup point along with several other delivery riders, waiting to collect food orders. According to eyewitnesses, the SUV struck Tinku at least four times, leaving him critically injured. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors said his condition remains serious.

Police investigations revealed that the accused is Naveen Yadav, an Ayurvedic doctor posted at a government primary health centre in Daultabad. Officials said the incident occurred around 10:30 pm on Sunday and was the result of a long-standing dispute. The accused allegedly held a grudge against the delivery worker, claiming that Tinku often parked his motorcycle in front of his Scorpio, causing inconvenience.

CCTV footage shows the SUV first hitting the delivery agent and fleeing the scene. Moments later, the vehicle returned, swerved toward the group of delivery riders again, and rammed into their parked bikes before escaping once more. The deliberate nature of the act has intensified public anger, with many demanding strict legal action.

An FIR was registered at Sector 10 police station on Sunday night. Following protests by delivery workers at the Sector 93 police post, police took the accused into custody on Monday evening. During interrogation, Naveen reportedly admitted to the act. Police confirmed that he lives in Bhagat Singh Colony, located close to a Swiggy store, which led to frequent encounters with delivery riders.

The incident triggered protests by delivery workers, who gathered in large numbers demanding immediate arrest and justice. The protest ended only after police assured swift action and confirmed that the accused had been detained.

This case has once again highlighted growing safety concerns for gig and delivery workers. In a separate incident last week, an 18-year-old delivery worker in East Delhi’s Old Kondli area was allegedly assaulted by a shop owner following a minor dispute. Police officials say such cases reflect a disturbing pattern of violence against delivery personnel.

Authorities said further investigation is underway, including forensic examination of the vehicle and detailed analysis of CCTV footage. Based on medical reports and evidence, additional charges, including attempt to murder, may be invoked against the accused.
