The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has officially declared the results of the Punjab State Civil Services Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination 2025, conducted for recruitment to 331 key government posts across the state.
The results were released on January 10, 2026, along with the revised answer key and the list of provisionally shortlisted candidates. Candidates can now access their results through the official PPSC website.
This year’s PCS Preliminary Examination witnessed strong participation. Out of 85,192 registered candidates, nearly 33,000 aspirants, representing around 40 percent, appeared for the test conducted on December 7, 2025.

The examination was held across 165 centres in Patiala, SAS Nagar (Mohali), Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib, Sangrur, and Chandigarh. These centres were further divided into 222 blocks to ensure smooth conduct of the examination. Ludhiana recorded the highest turnout, with 18,424 candidates appearing for the test.
The recruitment drive aims to fill 331 important positions in the Punjab government. These include Deputy Superintendent of Police, Tehsildar, Excise and Taxation Officer, Food and Civil Supplies Officer, and Labour-cum-Conciliation Officer. These roles play a crucial part in maintaining administrative efficiency and law and order across the state.
Alongside the declaration of results, the examination process has also drawn criticism from student groups. Misal Satluj, a student organisation that advocates for the Punjabi language and culture, has raised objections over what it describes as a significant reduction in Punjabi language content in this year’s Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) Paper II.
The group, along with several aspirants and civil society activists, staged a protest outside the PPSC head office. They alleged that Punjabi had been deliberately reduced in the question paper, placing rural and Punjabi-medium students at a disadvantage.
Yadavinder Singh Yadu, a representative of the organisation, stated that in previous years, between 15 and 25 questions in CSAT Paper II were typically in Punjabi. This year, however, only eight such questions were included, which he claimed altered the balance of the paper and affected fairness.
Candidates who have cleared the preliminary stage will now move on to the main examination, which will play a decisive role in final selection for these prestigious posts. PPSC is expected to announce the schedule and guidelines for the next phase soon.
