Gautam Adani Salary: India’s second-richest man, Gautam Adani, earned ₹10.41 crore in salary for the financial year ending March 31, 2025—an amount significantly lower than many of his peers in corporate India and even some of his top executives. According to the latest annual reports from his listed group companies, Adani, aged 62, drew remuneration from just two of the nine listed firms under his ports-to-energy conglomerate.

His total earnings in FY25 reflect a 12% increase over the ₹9.26 crore he received in FY24. From Adani Enterprises Ltd (AEL), the group’s flagship company, he earned ₹2.26 crore in salary and an additional ₹28 lakh through perquisites and allowances, totaling ₹2.54 crore—slightly up from ₹2.46 crore last year. Meanwhile, from Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ), he earned ₹7.87 crore, comprising ₹1.8 crore in salary and ₹6.07 crore as commission, compared to ₹6.8 crore in the previous year.
Despite helming a group valued in the billions, Adani’s salary remains modest in contrast to other industrial heavyweights. Sunil Bharti Mittal of Bharti Airtel reportedly earned ₹32.27 crore in FY24, Rajiv Bajaj of Bajaj Auto took home ₹53.75 crore, Pawan Munjal of Hero MotoCorp earned ₹109 crore, L&T Chairman SN Subrahmanyan received ₹76.25 crore, and Infosys CEO Salil Parekh drew ₹80.62 crore in FY25. Mukesh Ambani, India’s richest man, continues to forgo his salary since the COVID-19 pandemic, although he previously capped it at ₹15 crore annually.
Interestingly, several key executives within the Adani Group earned more than Gautam Adani himself. AEL CEO Vinay Prakash topped the list with a staggering ₹69.34 crore, including ₹4 crore in salary and ₹65.34 crore in perquisites and performance-linked incentives. AGEL MD Vneet S Jaain earned ₹11.23 crore, and Group CFO Jugeshinder Singh matched Adani’s earnings with ₹10.4 crore.
Adani’s family members, who also hold leadership roles within the group, earned handsomely. His son Karan Adani received ₹7.09 crore from APSEZ, while APSEZ CEO Ashwani Gupta earned ₹10.34 crore. Gautam’s brother Rajesh Adani drew ₹9.87 crore from AEL, and nephews Pranav and Sagar earned ₹7.45 crore and ₹7.5 crore, respectively.
Other top executives were also well-compensated. Suresh P Manglani of Adani Total Gas earned ₹8.21 crore, Adani Energy Solutions CEO received ₹14 crore, and Adani Power CEO SB Khayalia was paid ₹9.16 crore.
Despite his relatively lower salary, Gautam Adani—worth $82.5 billion per the Bloomberg Billionaires Index—continues to be a major force in global business. While he briefly reclaimed the title of Asia’s richest person twice last year, he currently trails Mukesh Ambani, who holds a net worth of $104 billion and ranks 17th globally, with Adani standing at 20th place.
