Kolkata: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has attacked West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee with all guns blazing over her recent comments against the Border Security Force (BSF) for allegedly allowing Bangladeshi infiltrators into India. BJP leader and Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar launched a scathing attack on Banerjee, calling her a “failed chief minister” who has “crossed all limits” with her allegations.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, during an administrative review meeting at the state secretariat on Thursday, accused the BSF of allowing infiltrators to cross over into India from border areas such as Islampur, Sitai, and Chopra. She said this was part of a “blueprint” by the central government to destabilize West Bengal. She also accused the BSF of torturing local residents and threatened to write a strongly-worded letter to the Centre about the issue.
To which, Sukanta Majumdar went into X (formerly Twitter) and criticized the statements made by TMC supremo. “The failed chief minister of the state, Mamata Banerjee, has reached the ultimate level of delusion,” he wrote. He claimed that the attack by Banerjee on BSF was to cover up her govt failures.
The failed Chief Minister of the state, @MamataOfficial, has reached the ultimate level of delusion!

Despite not providing land to set up outposts for border surveillance, she used to blame the Border Security Force (@BSF_India ) for illegal infiltration. But now, crossing all… pic.twitter.com/Jwzk0oAzwF
“She was used to laying blame on BSF for the infiltration taking place along our borders. Now, crossing all limits she is targeting her own administration’s officials, calling them incompetent,” Majumdar said.
The BJP leader also accused Banerjee of having a hidden agenda in making such statements. “Why this sudden shift in Mamata Banerjee’s narrative? Is she trying to protect the looters and criminals in her party by making such claims?” Majumdar asked.
She even alleged that her government received information suggesting that some infiltrators along with the BSF were posing a threat to the lives of TMC leaders. Banerjee directed State Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar to investigate where those infiltrators were at present and to submit the report.
The TMC leader said she needed peace on the both sides and that the Bengali and Bengal relationship is more than just mere good.
Majumdar dismissed these accusations against him though and accused the opposition leader to sully West Bengal’s prestige. “Honourable madam Mamata Banerjee, do not forget that people of Bengal see through your cheating and guile. You sullied sanctity of West Bengal. Now you are walking on the line,” he asserted.
This political row marks another chapter in the ongoing tussle between the TMC and BJP over the state’s governance and the role of central agencies in border management.
