Maharashtra: 6 Pushpak Express Passengers Run Over by Another Train in Jalgaon

Maharashtra: Six passengers of Pushpak Express were crushed to death by the oncoming Karnataka Express train on Wednesday evening after a tragic accident near Pachora station in Jalgaon district of North Maharashtra. The tragedy took place after Pushpak Express came to a halt at Pachora station as some person, under the impression of fire inside the train, had pulled the emergency chain at 5 PM.

As passengers de-boarded from the train to go and view the accident site, they somehow stepped onto the rails at that same moment that Karnataka Express, in the other direction, happened to be rushing at them. “At least six people were killed in this terrible accident”, Chief Spokesman of Central Railway confirmed.

Local authorities, along with railway officials, have begun an investigation to determine the cause of the accident. A relief operation has been set up to assist those affected by the tragedy, and compensation is being provided to the families of the deceased.

Central Railway has urged passengers to be cautious and remain vigilant during train halts, especially when emergency situations arise.
