In a recent incident near Howrah, three coaches of the 22850 Secunderabad-Shalimar Superfast Express derailed early on Thursday morning. The derailment occurred near Nalpur Station, about 40 kilometers from Kolkata, within the South Eastern Railway division. Fortunately, according to South Eastern Railway’s Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO), Om Prakash Charan, no casualties or injuries have been reported in the incident.

The Secunderabad-Shalimar Weekly Superfast Express, carrying both passengers and cargo, derailed around 5:31 a.m. as it transitioned from the middle line to the down line at Nalpur station. The affected coaches included one parcel van and two passenger coaches. An accident relief train and medical relief units were promptly dispatched from Santragachi and Kharagpur to provide necessary assistance and support.

While the Down line remains under repair, train services have resumed on the UP Main Line near Nalpur station. South Eastern Railway authorities have arranged 10 buses to help stranded passengers continue their journey toward Kolkata and other destinations.
