PM Modi Writes to CM Yogi on UP Diwas, Praises Development, Heritage and Self-Reliance; CM Yogi Expresses Gratitude

On the occasion of Uttar Pradesh Diwas, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote a detailed letter to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, extending warm greetings to the people of the state and appreciating Uttar Pradesh’s rapid progress in recent years. The Prime Minister highlighted the state’s rich cultural, spiritual and historical legacy along with its growing role in India’s development journey.

In his message, PM Modi said that the soil of Uttar Pradesh has a unique strength and has always contributed to the nation’s growth through its talent, capability and values. Referring to Kashi, Ayodhya, Mathura-Vrindavan and Prayagraj, he noted that Uttar Pradesh is not only the spiritual heart of India but is also emerging as a global centre of culture and tourism due to modern infrastructure and improved facilities.

The Prime Minister praised major initiatives such as the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the redevelopment of Kashi Vishwanath Dham, the organisation of Mahakumbh and the ongoing Magh Mela, stating that these reflect the spirit of “Vikas bhi, Virasat bhi” in the state. He also recalled Uttar Pradesh’s historic role in India’s freedom movement, from Jhansi and Meerut to Kakori, and the contribution of great personalities who shaped the nation.

Highlighting economic growth, PM Modi said Uttar Pradesh is steadily moving towards becoming a one-trillion-dollar economy. He pointed to the rapid expansion of expressways, defence corridors, airports and manufacturing hubs, including mobile manufacturing and the upcoming semiconductor ecosystem. International airports in cities such as Ayodhya, Varanasi, Lucknow and the Jewar International Airport were mentioned as key drivers of global connectivity and investment.

The Prime Minister also underlined Uttar Pradesh’s strong contribution to the Aatmanirbhar Bharat campaign. He appreciated the role of MSMEs, small and cottage industries, and traditional products such as Banarasi silk, Bhadohi carpets, glass, brassware and handicrafts. He said the “One District One Product” initiative has empowered lakhs of small entrepreneurs and helped local products reach international markets.

PM Modi further praised improvements in law and order and the effective implementation of welfare schemes. He said initiatives related to housing, healthcare, women empowerment and poverty alleviation have ensured that development reaches the last person in society. Citing the Ujjwala Yojana, he said it has become a symbol of dignity, welfare and empowerment for poor women.

CM Yogi Expresses Gratitude

Responding to the Prime Minister’s letter, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed gratitude on behalf of the people of Uttar Pradesh. In a post on social media platform X, he said that under PM Modi’s leadership, the state has shed its old “BIMARU” image and set new benchmarks in law and order, infrastructure, investment and industrialisation.

CM Yogi added that the coordinated efforts of the double-engine government have accelerated Uttar Pradesh’s journey towards modernity. He reaffirmed the state’s commitment to strengthening Aatmanirbhar Bharat and playing a decisive role in achieving the goals of a one-trillion-dollar economy and a developed India by 2047.
