IPL 2025 Mega Auction Set to Take Place in Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah on November 24 and 25

IPL 2025 Mega Auction Date: The highly anticipated mega auction for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is set to take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on November 24 and 25. This is the second consecutive year the IPL mega auction is being held overseas, with Dubai hosting the event in 2024. The decision to take the IPL auctions to international venues underscores the league’s growing global appeal.

The IPL Governing Council confirmed that the 2025 auction will offer 204 slots across 10 franchises. A staggering 1,574 players have registered for this two-day event, including 1,165 Indian players and 409 overseas players. This impressive turnout reflects the tournament’s attraction as players from around the world vie for a spot in the premier T20 league.

Registered Players: A Diverse Pool

The IPL Media Advisory outlined the breakdown of registered players:

• Total Registered Players: 1,574
• Indian Players: 1,165
• Overseas Players: 409
• Capped Indian Players: 48
• Capped International Players: 272
• Uncapped Indian Cricketers: 965
• Uncapped International Cricketers: 104

Additionally, 152 uncapped Indian players and three uncapped international players who were previously part of the IPL have registered, aiming to make a comeback in the upcoming season. The list also includes 320 completely uncapped players and 30 players from associate cricketing nations.

International Participation

South Africa leads the count among overseas players with 91 participants, followed by Australia with 76, England with 52, New Zealand with 39, and the West Indies with 33. Sri Lanka and Afghanistan each have 29 players, while 13 players from Bangladesh will also be in the fray, hoping to be picked by one of the franchises.
