Human Asset Portal: There is a worrying trend of reluctance among government officials and employees to submit their asset declaration, as prescribed by the state. So far, only 29% of all employees have declared both their movable and immovable assets on the Human Asset Portal, with the final deadline on January 31.
M. Devaraj, the Principal Secretary of Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms, has also instructed all related departments to take stringent measures regarding uploading asset details of all its employees before time. As per the requirement of the calendar year, an employee of the State Government is mandated to declare its asset details by the last date of January every year, which reveals the value of movable and immovable properties possessed by him / her as of December 31 of the previous year.
As of today, January 23, a review conducted by the state government on the Human Asset Portal reported that only 2,42,639 employees have complied out of 8,32,679 registered. That is still too big of a gap for the coming days before the deadline is met.
The non-compliance has further stirred up doubtful minds about transparency and accountability within the state’s administration. State officials are asking the employees to take measures and get their disclosures done on time.
