The operation began after a resident of Kamla Nagar Pilkhar approached police with serious allegations. He claimed that three men—Ankur Sharma, Nipendra Kumar, and Sahil from Karanpura—had come outside his house and verbally abused his wife. When he objected, the trio reportedly ran inside Hotel Raj Palace. The complaint prompted immediate action, and local police along with the Circle Officer (City) reached the hotel without delay.

When officers forced the hotel to open its doors and conducted a search, they discovered two women and several men inside the premises under suspicious circumstances. As police tightened the cordon, a few individuals attempted to escape by climbing onto nearby rooftops. In the chaos, one youth jumped from the hotel terrace in an effort to flee and suffered a fracture in his leg. He was rushed to a hospital for treatment while the rest were detained on the spot.

Those arrested include Ankur Sharma, Nipendra Kumar, Sahil of Karanpura, Anuj Yadav, Rahul, and Deependra from Kunera Friends Colony. Two women from Kolkata, West Bengal, were also taken into custody. All were later produced before a court and sent to judicial custody.

During the search, police seized condoms, beer cans, liquor bottles, and alleged performance-enhancing tablets from the rooms. Investigators also recovered a diary and hotel register containing several suspicious entries. According to preliminary findings, the diary recorded names of women along with corresponding amounts of money. Initial investigation suggests that approximately ₹700 per person was being charged, raising strong indications of organized prostitution.

A case has been registered against hotel owner Kashmir Singh, seven named individuals, and one unidentified person under sections of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act along with other relevant legal provisions. Police officials confirmed that the owner has fled and teams have been deployed to trace and arrest him.

The two women were initially taken to a One Stop Center, where they were questioned in the presence of women police personnel and counselors. After completion of legal formalities, they too were presented in court and sent to jail as per judicial orders.

Authorities have widened the scope of the investigation and are now examining bank account transactions, mobile call records, and CCTV footage from the hotel. Officials suspect that the case could involve a broader network, and more names may surface as the probe progresses.

Local residents say the hotel had been under suspicion for some time due to frequent visits by outsiders. However, in the absence of concrete evidence, no earlier action could be taken. This time, the formal complaint provided the basis for intervention.

Sources also revealed that the two women were reportedly planning to return home for the Holi festival, but the police action unfolded before they could leave. Officials have stated that if further evidence emerges, additional legal sections will be invoked, and strict action will be ensured against all those involved.

The investigation remains ongoing as Etawah police continue to examine every angle of the case.
