Dowry Death Case: Twisha Sharma’s Husband Samarth Singh Taken Into Custody After Surrender in Jabalpur Court

Samarth Singh had reached the court in the evening to surrender after withdrawing his anticipatory bail plea from the Madhya Pradesh High Court. As soon as he appeared before the court, Jabalpur police detained him and later shifted him to the nearby Omti police station. Officials said he would soon be handed over to Bhopal police for further investigation.

The case has been making headlines ever since Twisha Sharma was found dead at her matrimonial home in Bhopal’s Katara Hills area on May 12. The 33-year-old actor was reportedly found hanging inside the house, leaving her family devastated and raising serious questions over the circumstances surrounding her death.

Soon after the incident, Twisha’s family accused her husband and in-laws of dowry harassment and mental torture. Based on the complaint filed by the family, police registered an FIR against Samarth Singh and his mother, former district judge Giribala Singh.

According to police sources, Samarth Singh had been avoiding arrest since the case was registered. In an effort to trace him, authorities had even announced a reward of Rs 30,000 for information leading to his arrest.

Outside the Jabalpur court, emotions ran high as members of Twisha Sharma’s family and their lawyers gathered during the surrender proceedings. Security was tightened in the area to prevent any disturbance.

People close to the family claim Twisha had been facing pressure and harassment for a long time after marriage. Her relatives have demanded strict action against everyone involved and said they will continue their legal fight to ensure justice for her.

The investigation is now expected to pick up pace with Samarth Singh in custody. Police are likely to question him in detail about the events leading up to Twisha’s death while also examining digital records, call details, and statements from family members.

The case has once again brought focus on the issue of dowry harassment and domestic abuse, with many on social media demanding a fair and transparent investigation.
