A shocking double murder in Sardulgarh town of Punjab’s Mansa district has left residents stunned after a businessman and his gardener were shot dead at a farmhouse on Shellar Road on Friday morning. The victims were identified as trader Jasvir Kumar and his employee Baldev, who worked as a gardener at the property.
According to preliminary information, two unidentified assailants arrived at the farmhouse on a motorcycle and opened fire at close range. The attack was swift and precise, giving the victims little chance to react. Police suspect the killers may have conducted prior surveillance, as they appeared to know exactly where to strike before fleeing the scene.
Family members became aware of the tragedy after repeated calls to the victims went unanswered. Jasvir Kumar’s uncle, Satpal Singla, said he learned about the incident around 10 a.m. and rushed to the farmhouse, where he found both men lying in pools of blood. Local residents who heard gunshots initially mistook them for firecrackers, delaying the immediate alarm.
Police teams quickly sealed off the area and began collecting forensic evidence. Investigators are also scanning CCTV footage from nearby roads and establishments to trace the route taken by the attackers. Senior officers, including Mansa SSP Bhagirath Singh Meena, visited the crime scene and supervised the initial inquiry.
Officials say the motive behind the killings is still unclear. Authorities are examining all possible angles, including personal rivalry, business disputes, and the possibility of a targeted contract killing. No arrests had been made at the time of filing this report, and the identities of the attackers remain unknown.
