Rumors about temporary fuel rationing at petrol pumps in Chandigarh triggered confusion among residents after several social media posts claimed that petrol pumps had introduced limits on fuel purchases. However, the Chandigarh Administration has firmly denied these claims, calling them misleading and completely false.

Nishant Kumar Yadav clarified that the administration has not issued any order restricting the sale of petrol or diesel anywhere in the city. According to him, the viral messages circulating online about temporary fuel rationing have no basis and residents should not believe such unverified information.

The Deputy Commissioner reassured the public that petrol pumps across Chandigarh are operating normally and there is no cap or limit on the amount of fuel a customer can purchase. He emphasized that the city currently has adequate fuel stocks and supply operations are functioning smoothly.

Officials also confirmed that the Oil Marketing Companies responsible for supplying fuel have sufficient petrol and diesel reserves. These companies have assured the administration that deliveries to fuel stations are continuing without any disruption, ensuring that retail outlets remain well stocked.

Despite the rumors spreading online, authorities said there is no shortage of fuel in Chandigarh. All petrol pumps are receiving regular replenishment, and the supply chain remains stable.

The administration has urged residents not to panic or engage in unnecessary bulk purchasing of fuel. Officials explained that panic buying often creates artificial pressure on supply systems, even when there is no real shortage.

To maintain normalcy, the Chandigarh Administration is closely monitoring the situation and staying in constant coordination with Oil Marketing Companies. The goal is to ensure that petrol and diesel remain readily available for residents across the city.

Citizens have also been requested to rely only on official updates and avoid sharing unverified messages on social media. Authorities warned that spreading misinformation can lead to unnecessary panic and inconvenience for the public.

For now, officials have reiterated that fuel supply in Chandigarh is stable, petrol pumps are fully operational, and residents do not need to worry about any restrictions or shortages.
